The three-day athletic event will draw more than 900 pupils from diverse Zone-2 schools. Sisodia commented on the young athletes competing in the sports competition by saying, “The players are really dedicated and will one day make the nation proud by winning gold at world championships.

He promised the athletes that their advancement in the national capital would “never be hampered” by a “want of money.” “We established programmes for players like ‘Play and Progress’ and ‘Mission Excellence,’ under which the government pays for the best players’ coaching, food, and equipment. This offers the athletes adequate time to put in a hard effort and concentrate on taking home trophies for their nation, he said. Financial support of up to Rs 2.5 lakh per year is given to gifted players between the ages of 13 and 14 under the “play and progress programme,” while players who do well receive the support of up to Rs 16 lakh per year under the “Mission Excellence” programme.
