In response to a viral video purportedly showing medical college students insulting Sudama and Lord Krishna by depicting Sudama as inebriated during a cultural festival held on September 27, the Resident Doctors Association of the Maulana Azad Medical College has apologised and clarified. The group that committed the conduct has been forbidden, according to the medical association.
“This is in response to a social media video that contains content that is derogatory to religious sensibilities. We would want to make it clear that the incident in question occurred on the evening of September 27, 2022, during a satirical comedy show that was a component of the yearly college festival. The Residents Doctors Association and Azad Medicos Association collaborated to plan the 4-day college festival known as Synapse. The script for the event was kept a secret due to its competitive nature. And was against the organising committee’s norms and regulations,” the RDA MAMC said in a statement.
“Despite the fact that the performance in the video was degrading and unethical, the cultural society doing it (named Mahaul Makers) was immediately and unconditionally prohibited from participating in any future events on campus on September 28. Additionally, a written apology was requested and provided, it continued. The association continued by claiming that MAMC and Lok Nayak Hospital had a history of treating the greatest number of COVID patients during the most recent pandemic and had been at the forefront of care ever since the pandemic started. Secularism has been at the centre of many of the values that this college has taught during the 62 years that it has provided the nation with top-notch medical treatment. Anything that deviates from this is totally prohibited and is strongly discouraged.
