JEE Main 2023 applicants have been asking for the initial session of the exam to be held after their board exams in 2023. They have taken to Twitter with #JEEAfterBoards to request a delay in the exam until April, expressing their worries about having inadequate time to prepare.
Once the CBSE declared the board examination dates for 2023, students began asking for the engineering entrance test to be delayed since the dates fell between the Class 12 board tests from 2023 and the practical tests. The CBSE 12th board tests will start from February 15, 2023 and the practical tests have already begun.
A legal request has been filed at the Bombay High Court to delay the January session of JEE Main 2023 due to the upcoming pre-board exams for Class 12. This plea has also opposed the requirement of 75% marks to be qualified for the exam. The first session of JEE Main will take place from January 24 to 31, and the registration process has already started on jeemain.nta.nic.in, with a final deadline of January 12. The second session will be held from April 6 to 12, 2023.
A hopeful appealed to NTA, PM Modi, and Minister of Education Pradhan via Twitter to delay the examination, citing numerous rationales. The person asked why the announcement was so late and why the decision was made without considering the current circumstances of the students. They further commented that if the postponement was only for the purpose of normalization, it would end up ruining the lives of everyone involved.
Another individual expressed their concern regarding Pradhan’s post by saying, “Please don’t add to the anxiety we are already facing. Exams, tests, practicals and school assignments are already taking up our time. Could you possibly delay the JEE 1st exam to April?”. Another hopeful pleaded, “Respected Authorities, this is a major national level test and we are only given 40 days prior warning? Please consider the struggles of the students and make the right decision for us.”
