Following a pattern from previous years, 69 of the top 100 JEE-Advanced rank-holders have been offered admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. One of these chose “Engineering Physics,” while 68 of the group chose “Computer Science Engineering.”
IIT Bombay was the first choice of 93 elite candidates, according to data available with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), and 69 of them were selected in the first round of seat allocation for the IITs. 28 of the top 100 applicants received admission to IIT Delhi and three to IIT Madras. Up from 58 in 2020, 62 of the top 100 Joint Entrance Exam-JEE (Advanced) rank-holders were admitted to IIT-Mumbai last year. In 2019, 62 individuals from the top 100 applied to IIT Bombay, up from 59 in 2018. The top 500 JEE-Advanced rankers continue to choose IIT-B first; 127 of them were accepted into IIT-Delhi, and 173 were accepted into IIT-Bombay.
Less than 50 of the top 500 students are attending IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur, and IIT-Kharagpur. JEE-Advanced testing took place on August 28 and results were released on September 11. JEE-Main, the national admissions test for engineering schools, serves as the prerequisite for JEE-Advanced.
