Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Dhanbad and HCL Technologies have collaborated to create a knowledge management system.

IIT-ISM Dhanbad and HCL Technologies have sealed a partnership to foster collaboration in the domains of petroleum engineering and earth sciences. This collaboration will involve the formation of a knowledge management system through the utilization of modern technologies.

HCL Tech has committed to providing projects and internships to IIT (ISM) students and researchers to create digital solutions in exploration, drilling and production of hydrocarbons that are environmentally friendly. Additionally, they will conduct sustainability initiatives and programmes, such as discussions, podcasts and presentations at international events to promote transformative practices in the oil and gas industry. This collaboration between HCL Tech and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad will bring benefits to customers and support a reduced carbon footprint.

The signing of the agreement was witnessed by the dean of IIT-ISM Dhanbad, Sagar Pal, and the directors of HCL Technologies, oil and gas, Somnath Das and Deepak Bhardwaj. Ajay Bahl, corporate vice president of HCL Tech, expressed that the strategic move will support the oil and gas industry in making the most of data and introducing advanced, low-carbon sustainability solutions.

Rajiv Shekhar, the director of IIT-ISM Dhanbad, expressed his pleasure in collaborating with HCLTech on this ground-breaking venture. He added that it is necessary for academies and businesses to have interdependent associations that provide advantages for both. These joint endeavors will be useful for advancing technology research and invention, as well as producing a proficient workforce. The combination of research and knowledge cultivation has the capacity to generate economic and social impacts on society.
