IIT Patna has begun the campus placement process for BTech students for the 2022–2023 academic year. Pre-placement offers (PPOs) for the IIT Patna placements for the 2022–23 session increased significantly by 74% compared to the 2021–2022 batch, while average pay packages increased by roughly 16.70%.
For this season, IIT Patna’s highest pay offer has been Rs 82.05 lakh. As a result, numerous multinational corporations (MNCs) have provided compensation packages to BTech students for the positions of software development engineer that total Rs 61.05 lakh and Rs 57.75 lakh, respectively. Compared to last year, when it was roughly Rs 24 lakh, the average compensation offered this year was Rs 28.50 lakh. Pre-placement offers are made to BTech students based on summer internships, which start after the sixth semester and last for two to three months.

22 companies have already given PPOs to 61 students for various job profiles. Among the top employers, Google has offered SWE interns nine employment, Samsung has made ten, and Service Now has employed six. Four PPOs for software interns are also included on the list, along with Twilio and Adobe. Four pre-placement offers from Amazon have also been extended to IIT Patna students in the B Tech 2023 batch.
Among the organisations that made pre-placement offers to students were Atlassian, Uber, Flipkart, Indeed, SMS Datatech, Arista Networks, American Express, Publicis Sapient, Perceptive Analytics, Accenture India, Bloomberg, and DirectI.
The institute is moving toward boosting summer internships to enable students to get PPOs since the internship-based hiring paradigm is increasing, it said in a statement. Companies evaluate students on a variety of abilities throughout their summer internships, including their analytical approach, attitude toward working on the project assigned, documentation and presentation skills, etc. 412 job offers from 154 prestigious businesses in the nation and internationally were made during the most recent placement session at IIT Patna.
