The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) is now accepting applications for their ‘Hack and Reboot 2.0’ hackathon. Submissions for the competition will be accepted until December 18, 2022. Final pitch presentations will take place at IIT Kanpur’s outreach centre in Noida.
The ‘MVP grant’ is awarded to the top three winners of the annual national-level hackathon, with first place receiving Rs 7 lakh, second place Rs 6 lakh, and third place Rs 5 lakh. This hackathon provides a platform for engineering students, innovators, and start-ups to demonstrate their imaginative and inventive abilities.
This event will give the attendees the opportunity to network with the creators of SIIC and professionals in the engineering resource and development industry and academia. The hackathon is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) through their Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE) 2.0 program.
Hack and Reboot 2.0 will provide assistance to tech start-ups in the areas of emerging technologies. Financial and technical assistance will be given to those chosen in the healthcare and clean energy fields through the TIDE 2.0 program. The event will offer custom guidance and assistance with issues, along with access to IIT Kanpur’s resources and mentoring, as well as chance for additional funding, industry connections, and the possibility of physical incubation at the SIIC at IIT-K.
The Hackathon platform offers the opportunity to discover innovative, eco-friendly solutions in various areas. It has been confirmed to be an intense event with a time limit as participants join forces to craft prototypes to address a certain problem statement, as per the IIT Kanpur official press release.
