IIT-Kanpur has scheduled the ‘MechMicroFab-2022’ workshop, which began yesterday on December 5th and will continue until the 15th of December, 2022. Forty students are taking part in the event.

IIT Kanpur’s mechanical engineering department has put together an 11-day workshop with the support of the Department of Science and Technology-Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB) under the “Accelerate Vigyan, Mission- ABHYAAS” initiative. The objective of this workshop is to give researchers the skills they need to stay up to date and adjust to the quickly evolving modern manufacturing environment.

MechMicroFab-2022 is designed to support the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical System (NM-ICPS) and provide a learning environment for fundamental and advanced control systems, mechatronics, statistical methods, cutting-edge production, and miniaturized micro and nanofabrication technologies.

The workshop, coordinated by Janakarajan Ramkumar and Sarvesh Kumar Mishra from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur, will align with the Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat visions of the Indian government. The 11-day event will prioritize teaching areas that are often overlooked, according to the IIT-K press statement.

Sarvesh Kumar Mishra from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur declared that the speakers from different institutions will be giving talks on various research topics. The participants will get practical instruction on high-grade equipment, conducting and executing experiments, gathering data and analysis, and proper etiquette for retaining exactness in machining and additive manufacturing systems which are applicable in sectors like biomedical, defence, aerospace and automotive.
