This time, admission through the ECA supernumerary quota for the academic year 2022–2023 is being made in 14 categories, with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) category having the highest number of registrations with 1,748, according to an official. The official announced, “The trials for the ECA admissions 2022-23 will start from Tuesday, October 18, 2022, through Thursday, October 27, 2022. A combined score from the Common University Entrance Test (UG)-2022, performance tests, trials, and certificates will be taken into account for seat distribution under the ECA. With the exception of NCC and the National Service Scheme (NSS), 12 categories with an ECA score of 75 points will receive 60 points for passing physical tests and 15 points for submitting certificates.
The trials for creative writing, yoga, and digital media will take place on October 19 and 20, those for visual arts on October 19 and 21, those for music (instrumental) on October 18, and those for divinity on October 19. There won’t be any physical examinations for admission to the NCC and NSS categories, according to Delhi University officials. Certificates will determine the ECA score for the NSS and the NCC. According to the official, requests for date changes won’t be considered for ECA categories where there is only one trial date specified if there are any conflicts between dates for candidates applying for more than one ECA category. A candidate may submit an application for up to three categories.
However, only one will be used for admittance. The institution stated that candidates may seek a date change for other categories “with the recommendation of some other suitable dates only from among the dates available for the trials of the given ECA category or sub-category.” According to the official, candidates must show up 30 minutes prior to the trial time slot for attendance and to countersign the grades given based on certificate evaluation. The official urged the candidates to make sufficient arrangements for food, water, any medication, etc. for a longer than required time period because the given time slots could occasionally change because of unavoidable circumstances.
