Today, Dharmendra Pradhan, the union minister of education, unveiled the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for Foundational Stage 2022 and Balvatika. The education minister urged the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to finish the curriculum, syllabus, and textbooks by the ensuing Sarawati Puja. Speaking at the NCF launch ceremony, Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) is an essential step made to implement the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) across schools in the country.

The Uttarakhand government and Kendriya Vidyalayas, which piloted the adoption of NCF at 4,000 schools, received praise from the education minister as well. After careful consideration with the state governments, “we intend to adopt the NCF in CBSE, state government schools in the following year,” he stated. He added that the goal of the new curriculum is to develop students into global leaders while emphasising cultural rootedness. The NCF supports the creation of various curricula throughout the nation while fostering peace and concord and offering a foundation for quality and equity.

Through correspondingly favourable improvements in the curriculum, including pedagogy, NCF seeks to “positively reform the Indian school education system as envisioned in NEP 2020.” The NCF is established for teachers and practitioners in education, lays down a new vision for school education, and gives specifics and guidelines for quality education at the foundation stage, according to Reet Chandra, director department of school education and literacy, ministry of education. Physical growth, social-emotional and ethical development, cognitive development, language and literacy development, aesthetic and cultural development, and the development of good study habits are the six main objectives of the curriculum.
