As a result of a meeting of the National Committee for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations, which was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saxena has agreed to send students from the national capital on an exposure trip to the country’s border regions.
As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the LG decided that all universities should sponsor at least 75 students for an exposure trip to border areas in cooperation with the defence forces and central police organisations, the LG office said in a statement on Monday. “During the meeting headed by the prime minister, it was suggested that university students should be sent on such visits,” it read.
These visits will make sure that the students comprehend and value the importance of our independence and sovereignty. They are intended to educate the students about the excellent work being done by our defence forces and central police organisations despite challenging terrain and unfavourable weather, according to the statement.
In response, the vice chancellors of the ten universities received a letter from the LG Secretariat asking them to produce an action plan by September 15.
