Today, December 7, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna hosted its 9th convocation ceremony on its campus. A total of 521 students were presented with their degrees, including those in BTech, MSc, MTech and PhD programs.
Jalaj A Dani, chairman of Addverb Technologies Ltd was the main person at the event. G Satheesh Reddy, Scientific advisor to the Defence Minister was the honored guest, alongside Anand Deshpande, chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Patna, board members, and members of the IIT Patna Senate.
Today, 422 male and 99 female students out of a total of 521 got their degrees in varying programs; 242 BTech, 64 MSc, 113 MTech and 102 PhD students being among them.
According to the Ministry of Education’s India Rankings NIRF 2021 and 2022, IIT Patna is placed 21st and 33rd among engineering institutions in India, and 51st and 59th respectively for overall rankings.
TN Singh, the director of IIT Patna, went into extensive detail about the various educational, research, student, infrastructure, start-up, Technology Incubation Hub (TIH), Outreach and Industry-Academia, and Alumni activities that are occurring at the institute.
A number of degrees were given out in the fields of engineering, science, and the social sciences, such as Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Humanities and Social Science, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, and Mechatronics.
Apart from educational qualifications, outstanding students were given medals, prizes and other awards in different categories.
