For the upcoming academic year 2022-2023, the Federal Bank of Kerala has opened applications for the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation scholarships. The scholarship was established in honour of the late K. P. Hormis, who founded it. According to the bank, applicants for the scholarship must have received merit-based admission during the academic year 2022–2023 to government–aided or government–recognized self-financing colleges. The MBA, MBBS, Engineering, BS in Nursing, BS in Agriculture, including BSc (Hons) co-operation and banking with Agriculture Sciences, and BS in Engineering, are all qualifying courses for the scholarship. “The applicant’s annual household income should be less than Rs. 3,00,000,” it stated in a statement.
Children of military soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty will be given special consideration, and students who fall under this group are exempt from the requirement regarding family income. According to the bank, applicants must be students who reside in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab, or Maharashtra. “One seat in each discipline shall be reserved for students who are physically challenged, and shall also include a category for students who are speech, hearing, or visually impaired, as duly evidenced by a certificate issued by a Medical Officer, not below the rank of DMO or an approved Medical Officer of the Bank.”
Ajith Kumar K K, the president and chief human resources officer of the bank said its CSR programmes are aimed at developing communities and promoting environmental sustainability to create a protected future for generations to come.

One of the Bank’s main areas of concentration for its CSR spending is the promotion of education, including vocational education for students who are unable to pay their tuition. For more than 17 years, the Bank has provided scholarships to deserving individuals who wish to pursue higher education “he observed that 100% of tuition fees and other educational costs paid in accordance with the college’s fee schedule would be repaid to selected students, up to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh each year.
