An official stated on Friday that there may have been a gas leak from a nearby septic tank that caused almost 100 students at a Corporation Middle School in Hosur to become ill after lunch. He asserted that nobody had any severe symptoms, despite the fact that some of them felt sick and several of them puked in the classrooms. The fainting incident occurred at the Hosur Middle School around 3.15 pm, according to District Collector V Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy, who visited the school and the hospital where the children were being treated. After being transported to Hosur Government Hospital, they received treatment.

67 boys and girls in total were hospitalised. To determine the cause, tests would be performed on them, a senior health official told PTI. Senior representatives from the Hosur Corporation, Pollution Control Board, and School Education departments visited the school and conducted an investigation.
