Police claim that three male students videotaped a 19-year-old woman changing her clothes in the restroom of the city-based institute where they all attend classes, and then attempted to extort money from her by threatening to share the footage. According to the police, they have detained one of the accused and are looking for the other two. The victim and the accused both attend classes at the city’s Industrial Training Institute (ITI), which is located in the Govindpura district. An official stated that the group had videotaped the female student on September 17 while she was getting dressed in the institute’s restroom following attendance at a Vishwakarma Jayanti activity.
“One of the victim’s friends was shown the video by the accused, who then demanded Rs 7,000 from her and threatened to make the video go viral on social media if she didn’t comply.
