The IBPS PO Syllabus is determined by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Understanding the IBPS PO curriculum is the first and most important step in IBPS PO preparation.
For all designations and levels of the test, the IBPS PO Syllabus is nearly identical. However, the difficulty of the questions varies depending on the examination’s categories and stages. In comparison to the Mains test, the IBPS PO Prelims syllabus is simpler.

The preliminary exam serves as a screening tool, while the main exam assesses applicants’ fitness for probationary officer positions at various banks. The following is the IBPS PO Syllabus for both the prelims and main exams.
Three disciplines are included in the preliminary test syllabus: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.

Note: The IBPS PO Selection Process begins with this stage. Preliminary exam marks will not be taken into account for determining a student’s final merit. However, passing the Prelims exam is required in order to be considered for the Main exam. The prelims exam includes a sectional and overall cutoff, which means that to qualify for the exam, candidates must achieve the minimum sectional and total score set by IBPS.
Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Economy, and Banking Awareness are the four courses included in the IBPS PO 2023 Main Exam syllabus. The full IBPS PO syllabus for the Main examination is listed in the table below.

Note: The descriptive paper will be written in English and will require applicants to compose a letter and an essay. The paper will be worth 25 points and will take 30 minutes to complete. Only after the person gets a minimum score on the objective question will IBPS evaluate the descriptive paper.
The IBPS PO preliminary test will be held online, and applicants will have one hour to complete it. It is divided into three portions, each with 100 questions and a maximum score of 100 points. In the IBPS PO preliminary test, there is negative marking, with 0.25 marks lost for each incorrect answer attempted. To qualify for the IBPS PO Main test, you must score above the cut-off in all three parts.

There is no specific topic covered in the IBPS PO Interview. When preparing for the Interview stage, applicants should concentrate on Current Affairs, General Awareness, and Knowledge. During the interview process, aspirants who have been shortlisted should demonstrate their exceptional interpersonal abilities.
The interview round will be worth 100 points, and candidates must score at least 40% (35 percent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) to be considered for final selection. In both the IBPS PO 2024 Preliminary Exam and the IBPS PO 2024 Mains Exam, 0.25 points will be deducted for each question attempted incorrectly. There’ll be no penalty for an applicant who leaves a question blank or does not attempt it.
The student’s final selection for the position of Probationary Officer will be based on the student’s overall score in the Mains Exam as well as the interview process. Both of these sections of the test will be weighted in the ratio of 80:20. After the IBPS PO 2024 Exam Interview Process is completed, a merit list will be produced. Applicants who make the list will be given a joining letter from their preferred bank.
