HSEE: IIT Madras will begin offering two-year M.A. programmes in Development Studies, English Studies, and Economics beginning with the academic year 2023–2024. The current five-year Integrated M.A. programme will be replaced by the new two-year MA programmes. The new M.A. program’s admission requirements will be made public soon, and HSEE will no longer be accepted. In light of this, IIT Madras will stop administering the HSEE as of 2023.
Beginning in 2023, the Department will provide two-year M.A. programmes in English Studies, Development Studies, and Economics. Every stream aims to give students a strong theoretical foundation and prepare them for careers in academia, publishing, policy, governance, and corporate consulting. The Department’s multidisciplinary faculty drew on their extensive research and experience to create a programme that will uphold the standards established over the course of the last several decades by IIT Madras.
After 2022, there won’t be another HSEE. The GATE score will be used in place of the HSEE for admission to all streams of the 2-year M.A. programmes. Know more
