Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is a State-Level exam and is popularly known as HPTET. Every year, this exam is organized by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBSE). The purpose of this exam is to check the eligibility of applicants for recruitment as TGTs i.e. Trained Graduate Teachers in Arts/ Non-Medical/Shastri/ L.T/Medical/ Punjabi/ Urdu/JBT/ Subjects.
Candidates who want to become a Primary Teacher (for Class I-V) or Upper Primary Teacher (for Class VI-VIII) then they must have to apply for HPTET. It is a mandatory exam for all those students who have completed B.Ed. and want to become a teacher either in a Private school or a Government school in Himachal Pradesh State.
HPTET is conducted twice a year, once in July and the second in November. The application form for HPTET is filled in online mode while the examination will be held in offline mode. Very soon, the official notification of HPTET will be released on the official website of HPBSE. i.e. www.hpbose.org.

The application form of HPTET 2024 will be filled in online mode. The interested and eligible candidates can apply for HPTET by visiting the official website of HPTET after the activation of the application form.
Step 1: First of all, go to the official website and then click on the ‘New Candidate Register’ Tab.
Step 2: Here, you have enter some details such as Name, DOB, Category, Nationality, Sex, Mobile Number and Email ID, complete Address details, Exam Center preference, etc. as specified in the given area.
Step 3: After entering the details, upload scanned images in the prescribed format of the following:

Step 4: Now to complete the application form, candidates have to pay the application fee.
Step 5: In the last, finally accept the declaration and click on the final submit button. After the complete submission, take a print out of the confirmation page and fee receipt for future use.

Note: The question paper of HP TET will be available in both the languages Hindi and English, however, for Shastri, it will be partly in Sanskrit and partly in Hindi. Also, the Punjabi/Urdu language teacher exam will be conducted in Punjabi/Urdu/English only.

The Admit Card of HPTET will be released approximately two-three weeks before the exam date. The admit card will be released on the official website and candidates can download from there. Admit card is a very important document and without carrying it, noone can enter the examination hall. Here we have provided below the steps to download the admit card.

The result of HPTET will be declared on the official website. After a few days of examination, candidates can download their results or scorecard from the official website after the commencement of the result officially. Candidates can download their results by proceeding with the steps given below.
The board has set up a minimum score/ passing percentage to crack the HPTET exam. Candidates have to qualify for the test by obtaining the minimum score set up by the authority. The minimum cut off marks for different category candidates are different as given below in the table.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBSE) conducts the HPTET. It is the state-level exam for candidates aspiring to become teachers in various government schools of Himachal Pradesh.
As per the latest announcement, the validity of the HPTET certificate has been changed from seven years to Life-Long. Now, candidates who qualify the HPTET will have a lifelong validity of their certificate.
To qualify the HPTET exam, candidates belonging to the Unreserved category need to score a minimum of 60% marks, while candidates from OBC/SC/ST/PwD categories need to score 50% marks.
