Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is a State-Level exam and is popularly known as HPTET. Every year, this exam is organized by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBSE). The purpose of this exam is to check the eligibility of applicants for recruitment as TGTs i.e. Trained Graduate Teachers in Arts/ Non-Medical/Shastri/ L.T/Medical/ Punjabi/ Urdu/JBT/ Subjects.

Candidates who want to become a Primary Teacher (for Class I-V) or Upper Primary Teacher (for Class VI-VIII) then they must have to apply for HPTET. It is a mandatory exam for all those students who have completed B.Ed. and want to become a teacher either in a Private school or a Government school in Himachal Pradesh State.

HPTET is conducted twice a year, once in July and the second in November. The application form for HPTET is filled in online mode while the examination will be held in offline mode. Very soon, the official notification of HPTET will be released on the official website of HPBSE. i.e. www.hpbose.org.

HPTET 2024 Application Form

The application form of HPTET 2024 will be filled in online mode. The interested and eligible candidates can apply for HPTET by visiting the official website of HPTET after the activation of the application form.

Steps to fill the Application Form

Step 1: First of all, go to the official website and then click on the ‘New Candidate Register’ Tab.

Step 2: Here, you have enter some details such as Name, DOB, Category, Nationality, Sex, Mobile Number and Email ID, complete Address details, Exam Center preference, etc. as specified in the given area.

Step 3: After entering the details, upload scanned images in the prescribed format of the following:

Step 4: Now to complete the application form, candidates have to pay the application fee.

HPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit Criteria

  • There is no upper or maximum age limit required for HP TET. Candidates from any age group can apply for this exam.
  • The age limit criteria will be decided by the conducting authority during the time of appointment (as per Recruitment and Promotion Rules).
  • There will be given relaxation in age up to 5% for SC/ST/OBC/PHH categories.

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks along with 4-years B. El. Ed. (Bachelor in Elementary Education).
TGT (Medical)
  • Candidates must have completed their B.Sc.(Medical) with a minimum of 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed or B. Ed. (Special Education),

OR

  • Candidates must have completed their Class XII or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and 4-years B. El. Ed. (Bachelor in Elementary Education) or B. Sc. (Medical Ed.).
TGT (Non-Medical)
  • Candidates must have completed their B.Sc.(NM) with a minimum of 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed or B. Ed. (Special Education),

OR

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum score of 50% and 4-years B. El. Ed. (Bachelor in Elementary Education) or B.Sc. (NM Ed.)
Shastri
  • Candidates must have completed Shastri with a minimum of 50% score from an awarding body that is duly recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Government.
Junior Basic Training
  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks, and a 2-years JBT certificate from a duly recognized Awarding Body of Himachal Pradesh Government.

OR

  • Candidates having a 1-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education).
Language Teacher (Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi)
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation in B. A. with Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year B. Ed. or B. Ed. (Special Education)/ 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates who have completed their post-graduation in M.A. (Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi) with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University and 1-year B.Ed.

Notes:

  • Candidates belonging from reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PHH will get a relaxation in a minimum score of qualifying examination and in the HP TET qualifying score up to 5%.
  • Candidates who are pursuing in the final year of any of the required teacher training programs (recognized by NCTE/RCI) are also eligible to apply for HP TET.

  • +1 will be rewarded for every correct answer.
  • No negative marking will be there for an incorrect answer.

HPTET 2024 Admit Card

The Admit Card of HPTET will be released approximately two-three weeks before the exam date. The admit card will be released on the official website and candidates can download from there. Admit card is a very important document and without carrying it, noone can enter the examination hall. Here we have provided below the steps to download the admit card.

How to Download?

  • First of all, go to the official website.
  • Select the link of ‘Admit Card’.
  • Now candidates have to enter their Registration number, Date of Birth/Password, and captcha code for security reasons and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • After submitting the details, the admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Now candidates have to download the admit card and take a printout of it for future use.

Note- If the admit card is not accessible on the official website, then the candidates are advised to visit the Board’s Office with a copy of the confirmation page.

HPTET 2024 Result

The result of HPTET will be declared on the official website. After a few days of examination, candidates can download their results or scorecard from the official website after the commencement of the result officially. Candidates can download their results by proceeding with the steps given below.

How to Download the HPTET result?

  • First of all, go to the official website.
  • After visiting the official website, find and click the ‘HPTET Result’ link.
  • After that, candidates have to enter their Roll Number/Application no., DOB/ password to view their result.
  • The scorecard/ result will appear on the monitor screen.
  • Now download the result and take a printout of it for future use.

HPTET 2024 Cut off

The board has set up a minimum score/ passing percentage to crack the HPTET exam. Candidates have to qualify for the test by obtaining the minimum score set up by the authority. The minimum cut off marks for different category candidates are different as given below in the table.
