GUJCET 2023 Application Form

Tentatively, in February month, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) will issue the application form of the GUJCET 2023 on its official website. Before the deadline, applicants can submit the application form of GUJCET for 2023 in online mode. Before filling out the application form, applicants should make sure that they meet all the GUJCET 2023 eligibility requirements. Registration, application fee payment, filling out the application form, uploading required documents, and printing the filled-in form are the steps involved in filling the GUJCET 2023 application form.

How to Apply for GUJCET 2023?

Every year Gujarat Secondary and High School Board publishes the GUJCET application form in online mode tentatively in the month of February. Applicants must complete the application form by the specified deadline. After the deadline, no applications will be accepted. The following is a list of the steps involved in filling the GUJCET application form:

Step 1- Registration Process: Applicants must have to register by providing some required basic information such as Applicant’s name, Applicant’s DoB, Active mobile number, and Valid email address. After the registration has been successfully done, applicants will receive credentials details such as their login ID & password by message and an email on their registered communication details.

Step 2- Payment of Application Fees: The applicants must pay the application fee through a credit card /debit card or net banking facility in online mode. The application fee is also payable through Challan by visiting any nearest SBI branch. It is recommended that students keep the payment receipt safe until the admission process is completed.

Step 3- Filling Detailed Application Form: Applicants must log in via their login ID & password in order to fill out the application form. Applicants will have to fill in their Parent’ details, Educational qualification details, Communication address, the Exam city preference, and other required details. All information submitted by applicants must be accurate and only according to the official documents.

Step 4- Uploading Documents: Applicants will have to upload images (scanned) of recent passport-size photo & signature. The size & format of the scanned images must be according to the specification given in the official brochure.

Step 5- Final Submission of Form: Once you upload the images, then the application form of the GUJCET will be automatically submitted. Students must print out the system-generated confirmation page & filled-out the application form. Applicants are advised to keep the printout of the application form safe until the admissions process is completed.

Documents Required for GUJCET 2023 Application

Applicants must have the following documents on hand before filling out the GUJCET application form.

Educational Documents: 

  • Applicants should have a scanned copy of the self-attested class 10th and 10+2th standard mark sheet from a recognized board.

Personal documents:

  • Applicant must have a scanned copy of the documents mentioned below:

    • Self-attested Certificate of State Domicile
    • Self-attested Certificate of Caste/ Category

Identity Proof:

  • Applicant should have a scanned image of any of the following ID proof:

GUJCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants interested in applying for GUJCET 2023 must meet certain minimum requirements, which includes Applicant’s age, Applicant’s nationality, and academic qualifications. Applicants who meet these requirements will be considered eligible to appear for the exam and then to apply for engineering & degree/diploma in pharmacy programs. Applicants should be aware that the admission committee, i.e. ACPC, has specified the GUJCET 2023 eligibility criteria. Those planning to appear for the exam should have all of the necessary documents on hand to demonstrate their eligibility at all stages of the selection process.

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: The citizenship of the applicants should be Indian.
  • Residence: Applicants should be domiciled of Gujarat.
  • Appearing: Applicants appearing in the last year/ semester can also apply for GUJCET.

Engineering Programme:

  • Qualification: Applicants should be passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% marks for the unreserved category (40% marks for reserved category) and have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

Pharmacy Programme:

  • Qualification: Applicants should be passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% marks for the unreserved category (40% marks for reserved category) and have studied Physics, Chemistry, as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

Diploma Programme:

  • Qualification: Applicants should be passed class 12th with a minimum and have studied Physics, Chemistry, as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

GUJCET 2023 Domicile Criteria/ Rules

The eligible applicants should satisfy all the following rules of Domicile to apply for GUJCET:

Domicile Rule 1: The applicants should be a permanent domicile of the state (Gujarat). 

Domicile Rule 2:  The applicants must have acquired Class 10th & 12th (Gujarat Board). Applicants who have acquired Class 10th & 12th (CBSE)will also be eligible to appear for the exam. However, He/she should have attended a school in the state of Gujarat.

Domicile Rule 3:  Applicants who have acquired their class 10th & 12th from such schools which were located in Union Territories of Dadra Nagar & Haveli, Daman & Diu, can also be eligible to apply for the exam. The applicant’s parent must be Gujarati.

Domicile Rule 4:  Applicants who have acquired class 10th & 12th (ICSE/ISE board) from any Gujarati schools will be eligible to appear for the exam.

Domicile Rule 5: Applicants who have acquired Class 10 & 12 through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) can also appear for the exam. However, the center of study should be allocated in the state of Gujarat.


GUJCET 2023 Exam Pattern

Before preparing for the examination, students must know about the GUJCET examination pattern. Tentatively, in the 2nd week of May 2023, the GUJCET 2023 entrance examination will be held in offline mode. The exam will be conducted to determine eligibility for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy programs. The GUJCET result will be declared online by the GSEB. Applicants can view their results by providing the registration no. and password. Applicants who qualify for the GUJCET exam will be invited to participate in the process of counseling & admissions. GUJCET 2023 Merit List

  • Applicants who have qualified for the qualifying test and have valid percentile marks, their name will be added to the 1st merit list depending on the score. The merit list of GUJCET will be compiled using a 60 percent weightage of PCM percentile marks combined with a 40 percent weightage of GUJCET percentile marks.
  • Applicants who have qualified for the qualifying test by a board and have non-valid percentile marks, their name will be added to the 2nd merit list of GUJCET depending on the score. The list of merit will be made based on the taking 60 percent weightage of the secured in PCM after they have been covered up to 100, and a 40 percent weightage of the marks secured in the GUJCET test.

GUJCET Tie-Breaking Rules

In case, if two or more applicants have the same score, the GUJCET merit list will be determined using the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying exams as same as given in the following order:

  • Marks of Maths & Physics
  • Marks of Maths & chemistry
  • Marks of Physics & Chemistry
  • Marks in Maths
  • Marks in Physics
  • Marks in Chemistry & English
  • Aggregate marks in all the subjects

GUJCET Cutoff 2023

The cutoff score is a minimum qualifying mark and ranks under which applicants will be admitted to different participating colleges/institutions. All-rounds of counseling will have a different cutoff set by the counseling authority. Through ACPC, applicants will have institute-specific & course-specific cutoffs for all the participating colleges/ institutes in GUJCET counseling.

Factors Determining GUJCET Cut-off

The cut off score of the GUJCET depends on the following parameters:

  • Performance of the applicants in the GUJCET exam.
  • Previous year cutoff trends of the GUJCET.
  • No. of participated applicants in the GUJCET.
  • Level of difficulty of the question paper.

GUJCET 2023 Counselling

To make the admission process easier, registration for counseling is assumed to begin from June 2023. To get admission, all the eligible candidates must attend the counseling process of the GUJCET 2023. All original documents will be required to bring at the time of counseling and will be specified in the notification of GUJCET 2023. The ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) will organize the GUJCET counseling process in 2023. Students will have to qualify for the exam to participate in the process of counseling.

Seat allotment for the counseling process will also be handled by the ACPC. The counseling process will be done online. Candidates will be required to fill out their preferred choices within a fixed time frame set by the authority, ACPC. The counseling process will be open to all applicants whose names will be appeared on the final merit list. The counseling process will be held based on the cut-off marks. After the seat allotment, all the eligible applicants who have met the requirement of the cut-off will receive a letter for admission allotment.

The committee will create a merit list of eligible students who can take part in the GUJCET Counseling and then the committee will assign Government and Management seats to them on the basis of the applicant’s rank & preferences.

Detailed Counselling Process of GUJCET 2023

GUJCET 2023 Counselling Registration

  • To take part in counseling, applicants will have to register themselves on the website of ACPC.
  • After the registration process, the ACPC will declare the merit list for admission for all eligible applicants.

Choice Entry

  • After the registration process is complete, the applicant must log in using credentials and check his or her merit number from the merit list. They can then proceed to the next step of fulfilling the names of their college according to preferences.
  • Fill in the maximum no. of their preferred choices to enhance the chances of selection.

Online Seat Allotment

  • After filling in preferred choices, the ACPC will allow admission on the basis of merit & choices chosen by the applicants.
  • If an applicant fixes their seat then he/ she will have to pay the token fee via online payment or by visiting designated bank branches.
  • After paying the token fee, applicants will necessarily have to take the fee receipt.

Document Verification & Reporting 

  • Applicants will have to go through the document verification process.
  • This process will take place for those applicants who have given the seats for admission.
  • The Document verification will consist of the following steps:
    • Step 1: Applicants will have to paste the passport size photo on the registration form and then will have to sign on it.
    • Step 2: Applicants will have to report at the designated Help Line Center to verify their documents and then present the photo pasted registration form.

Documents Required for GUJCET Counselling

The applicant must have to present the self-attested copies of the mentioned documents to the Help Center, along with a hard copy of the registration form:

  1. Mark-sheet of S.S.C. Examination.
  2. Mark-sheet of H.S.C. Examination (Std. XII)
  3. Mark-sheet of the GUJCET 2023
  4. Transfer Certificate,
  5. Caste certificate for an applicant applying from Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), Scheduled Tribes (ST) or, Scheduled Castes (SC), or, and Socially & Educationally Weaker Backward Classes (SEBC), or from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), circulated by the responsible authority approved by the State Government.
  6. Physical Disability certificate (in case of Physically Handicapped), circulated & duly signed by the competent Medical Authority or Civil Surgeon,
  7. Ex-Serviceman Certificate, circulated by the DSWO (District Sainik Welfare Officer) / Director of SWB (Sainik Welfare Board) of Gujarat State.
  8. In-Serviceman certificate (Provisional copy) circulated by the CO (Commanding Officer)of the corresponding unit to which she/he is giving service.
  9. Income certificate circulated by the competent authority approved by the Government of Gujarat, if required,
  10. Passport Size Photograph of the applicant from a state other than GSHSSEB (Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examination Board)

The final seat allocation will depend on the applicant’s merit, seat availability, and category. As a report of 2017, GUJCET has been declared mandatory to get admitted into UG Engineering & Pharmacy Diploma/Degree courses in the Gujarat state.
