NSS Full Form: The National Service Scheme is the full name of the NSS. It is a government-sponsored organisation in India that falls under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. It was founded in 1969 to help students and younger generations develop their character through community service. It is a non-profit organisation made up of young +2 students from universities and colleges.

The National Service Scheme’s Slogan and Goals

The NSS’s slogan, “Not Me But You,” represents the concept of community living and emphasises the importance of selfless service. Its vision is based on the premise that an individual’s well-being is largely dependent on society’s overall well-being, so NSS participants are expected to contribute to society’s well-being.   • The NSS Badge includes the NSS logo. The giant Rath Wheel of the world-famous Konark Sun Temple in Orissa, India, inspired the logo.
  • The blue and red colours of the logo encourage NSS participants to participate in and be enthusiastic about social events that promote nation-building.
  • The red colour indicates that the volunteer is in good health, is enthusiastic and determined, and has a lot of energy.
  • The colour navy blue represents the cosmos, of which the NSS is a small part, and is thus ready to respond to its contribution to people’s and society’s well-being.
  • The logo’s wheel represents the cycle of creation, preservation, and motion of space and time in reality. As a result, it demonstrates both consistency and progress, as well as the NSS’s ongoing pursuit of social change.
