PU B.Ed. is a state-level entrance exam to get admission in Colleges in the state of Punjab for the 2 years Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) course. PU B.Ed. is a Common Entrance Test (CET) to choose the candidates for admission into 2 years B.Ed regular courses meant for the academic year 2024. The Applicants who wish to opt for the program must have to fill-up the Application Form before the last date of submission.

Candidates who are seeking admission into various colleges of Punjab University B.Ed (PU B.Ed) 2024 including Government Aided, Government, Private Self-Financed colleges located in Punjab. The PU B.Ed. course is affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar; Punjabi University, Patiala; and Punjab University, Chandigarh.

PU B.Ed. 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the PU B.Ed. course 2024 shall be made on merit-based. The merit list will depend on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test of PU B.Ed. 2024 or on any other selection process as per the policy of State Govt. / U.T. Administration and the University.

Before filling the application one should have the knowledge about all the eligibility criteria. Here are given some basic eligibility criteria as follow. 

  • Candidates must have completed their  Bachelor’s degree and/or the Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities/Commerce/Home Science,  with at least 50% marks from any recognized university.     
    OR,
  • Candidates have a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology  (B.E or B.Tech.) with a specialization in science and mathematics with 55% aggregate marks.                                                                                                        OR,
  • Those candidates who have passed B.A.LL.B. with at least 50% marks in a relevant school subject are eligible to apply.                                                       OR,
  • There will  5 %  relaxation of marks in favor of SC/ ST candidates. Candidates having marks less than 45% belonging to such categories SC/ ST will not be eligible to apply.
  • The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favor of the reserved categories will be given according to the rules of the State Government of Punjab/ Chandigarh Union Territory Administration.

PU B.Ed. 2024 Exam Pattern

Before filling the application form, candidates must have a deep understanding about the exam pattern because it will help them to understand the actual paper pattern. Here is detailed information about the exam pattern. 

  • Total No. of Questions: The total number of questions is 120 in the exam paper.
  • Type of Questions: The format of the question paper will be given in MCQ’s type.
  • Total Score: The Question paper shall contain 120 Marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark for every correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of 0.25 % for every wrong answer

PU B.Ed 2024 Hall Ticket

The admit card/ hall ticket will be available in an online manner by the official authorities on the official website. The admit card is regarded as an important document because it comprises all the required examination details and candidates’ other vital information like contenders name, Exam time, Exam date, contenders date of birth and exam center, etc.

Step 2. Now Open the Candidate’s Portal and download the Hall Ticket/ Admit Card by the login.

Step 3. Now take the print out of the Hall Ticket and preserve it for future references.

PU B.Ed 2024 Result 

PU B.Ed entrance exam result for 2024 will be declared on the official website. The candidates will able to download their results by providing their registration no on the official portal of Punjab University.

Official authorities will make an announcement of the results on the official website. Candidates need to open the official website of the university for results and have to use their roll number and date of birth. It is well-versed to download the result and get a printout for the same. On the basis of results, officials will grant admission to the aspirants in B.Ed. course.

The Result of the Punjab B.Ed entrance test will be publicized in the Last Week of August (tentative). After the result declaration, the selection criteria for the admission will depend on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance Exam. A rank list will be prepared by the University of Punjab to take admission in two years B.Ed. course. 


PU B.Ed. 2024 Counselling

PU B.Ed 2024 Counselling will start from August 2024 (tentative). Candidates who have successfully cleared the Entrance exam will be eligible for counseling. Counseling will be based on marks obtained in PU B.Ed Entrance Exam. After the allotment of Seats, Candidates have to report as soon as possible within the valid time period to take admission into B.Ed. course and if they do not so then their seats may get cancelled.

During the counseling round, all the candidates are instructed to open the particular link and fill up the registration form to partake in the counseling rounds and subsequently, candidates need to opt for the choice for the college along with their options desired and get the choices filled in the counseling round.

When the counseling round is over, candidates need to download a seat allowance letter from the official website of the University of Punjab. After the seat allotment to the candidates, they need to visit the allotted college with all vital pamphlets and credentials along with them.

In case, two candidates securing similar marks/ ranks and appearing for counseling then the first preference will be given to the candidates having higher marks in the qualifying academic exam.
