The full form of PESSAT is the People’s Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test. The exam PESSAT of 2024 is a screening test for the National-level entrance exam which is conducted every year by the People Education Society University, Bangalore, in Karnataka state.

The purpose of the PESSAT 2024 entrance exam is conduct to offer admission to various institutes/ colleges for different UG and PG courses that are affiliated with PES University.

People Education Society University was founded in the year 1972 in Bengaluru (India’s Silicon Valley). The focus of PES is on 4 major fields of education, including Engineering, Medicine, Management, & Life Sciences. The University offers both options of foundation courses as well as specialization courses in all 4 major focused areas with a Bachelors’s degree/ Master’s degree/ Ph.D. degree.

Earlier the PES University was named PESIT (PES Institute of Technology), and later on, it was renamed PES University in 2013. PESSAT Application Form 2024

The application form for PESSAT 2024 will be released online by PES University on its official website. Interested applicants will be eligible to apply online mode from its official website pessat.com. But it should be kept in mind that only those candidates will be eligible to apply who will satisfy all the eligibility criteria. All the information regarding the application form filling process is given in the below section.

Steps to Fill PESSAT Application Form 2024

The complete online form filling procedure is given below.

Registration Process:

  • First of all, open the official website of PES University, and then you have to click on the tab named, ‘How to Apply.
  • Now you have to enter your personal details such as the Candidate’s Name, Gender, Course, DoB, Email & Contact no.
  • After entering all the details, you have to click on ‘Continue’.
  • Next, candidates will have either of two options ‘Edit’ or the ‘Confirm’ button as per the requirement.
  • Once you click on the option ‘Confirm’, then you will be directed to the personal info page.

Filling the PESSAT Form

  • On this page, you will have to enter your details such as category, nationality, caste, religion, mother tongue, citizenship, blood group, family size, communication address, place of birth, details of parents, test center preferences, qualifying examination details, etc.
  • Once you fill in all the required details then you have to accept the declaration by clicking on ‘Declaration’ and then on the ‘Submit’ button.

Uploading the Documents:

After providing all the required details in the form, now you will have to upload the images of the scanned copy of your recently clicked passport size photograph in the format and specification given below.

PESSAT Application Form Fees 2024

  • Candidates will have an option to pay the application fee at their convenience. i.e. they can pay the application fee either online or offline.
  • All the candidates have to pay INR 1050 as an application fee.

Online Mode:

  • If you want to pay the fee in online mode then you can pay it directly through debit /credit card or net banking.

Offline Mode:

  • If you want to pay the fee in offline mode then you can pay it in two ways – through e- Challan or DD (Demand Draft).

Challan

  • First of all, candidates will have to take a printout of the challan and application form as well then they have to go to the nearest SBI branch to pay the application fee along with cash.
  • Once you pay the application fee through challan then you have to submit a hard copy of the online application form with a copy of the stamped e-challan.

Demand Draft

  • The PESSAT 2024 application fee has to be paid in support of the ‘PES University General Fund’, which you will have to submit at the official address of PES University, Bangalore.
  • To pay through Demand Draft, you have to take Demand Draft from the bank, and then they have to fill in the DD number, Branch Name, Branch Name, Bank name, DD date online, etc. as required.
  • Next, you have to post the DD along with the filled, & printed PESSAT application form to the address mentioned below:

PESSAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

The required eligibility criteria for PESSAT 2024 entrance exam are given below in detail for almost all the courses. For more information regarding eligibility, candidates are instructed to read the information brochure of PESSAT 2024 available on the website of PES University.

The eligibility criteria will be different for all the different UG and PG courses as mentioned below. Before filling out the application form for PESSAT 2024, must require to go through all the eligibility criteria.

Nationality:

  • The nationality of the candidates should be Indian only to apply for any of the courses through PESSAT 2024. 

For B.Tech Course:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for B.Tech. the course must have completed the class 12th or equivalent with a minimum of aggregate 50% marks from a recognized board/ institute.
  • Candidates must have completed class 12th with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Mode of Admission:

  • The admission will be taken through CET (Common Eligibility Test) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. OR,
  • The admission will be taken through PESSAT conducted by PES University.

For B.Des Course:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for the B.Des. course must have completed the class 12th or equivalent with a minimum of aggregate 60% marks in any subjects from a recognized board/ institute.

Mode of Admission:

  • The admission will be taken through UCEED conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on behalf of the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resources Development). OR,
  • The admission will be taken through PESSAT conducted by PES University.

For B.Arch and BBA LLB Courses:

  • To get enrolled in the B.Arch program, candidates have to qualify for the NATA exam.
  • To get enrolled in the BBA LLB program, candidates have to qualify for the CLAT exam.
  • While filling out the PESSAT 2024 application form candidates will have to upload their CLAT or NATA scorecard.

For BBA Courses:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for the BBA course must have completed the class 12th or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized board/ institute.

For M.Tech Course:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for the M.Tech.course must have completed B.E./B.Tech. with a relevant branch from a recognized University/ Institute.

Mode of Admission:

  • The admission will be taken through PESSAT conducted by PES University.
  • The admission will be taken through PGCET conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority).

For MBA Courses:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for the MBA course must have completed Graduation with an aggregate of 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute.

Mode of Admission:

  • The admission will be taken through PESSAT conducted by PES University.
  • The admission will be taken through PGCET conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority).
  • The admission will be taken through CMAT conducted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

For MCA Course:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for the MCA course must have completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/ Institute.

For M.Sc and M.com Courses:

PESSAT Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern of PESSAT 2024 is different for different courses. For more information regarding exam patterns, you have to read this section properly as it contains all the related information about the exam pattern of PESSAT.

  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Time: 180 minutes (For B.Tech course) & 120 minutes (For other courses).
  • Total Questions: The no. of questions will be different for different papers. For B.Tech. course, there will be a total of 180 MCQs.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct response will consist of one mark.
  • Negative Marks: No, there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses.

PESSAT 2024 Syllabus

The Syllabus of PESSAT 2024 will be different for different Undergraduate & Postgraduate courses. PESSAT Slot Booking 2024

The candidates will have to book the slots for attempting the PESSAT 2024 exam within the specified time period. After the selection of slots as per the candidate’s preferences, the PESSAT 2024 admit card will be released accordingly. If in any case, the slot booking process has not been completed by the candidates then as per the availability the slots will be booked automatically for those candidates.

Steps for PESSAT 2024 Slot Booking

  1. Open the official website of PESSAT 2024.
  2. Now candidates will have to click on the available link of Slot Booking.
  3. First, they have to log in by entering their registration no., and password.
  4. Now click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  5. As per the current availability & preferences, candidates will have to select the exam center, exam date & time.
  6. After that, they have to click on the ‘Confirm’ button.
  7. After booking the slots, candidates will be required to take a hard copy of the PESSAT 2024 admit card.

PESSAT 2024 Admit Card

The PESSAT 2024 Admit Card will be available to download from the official website prior to 1-2 days of the PESSAT examination. The admit card is the most important document that you will have to bring to the exam center on the exam day. Candidates will have to carry a photo proof of valid ID card such as Driving License, Aadhar Card, etc along with the PESSAT admit card. In order to access the PESSAT admit card, you will have to provide your login credentials. The admit card of PESSAT will consist of all details such as the Candidate’s Name, Exam date & Exam Timings, Roll No., and all-important instructions. All the candidates are instructed to read the details carefully printed on the admit card.

Steps to Download PESSAT 2024 Admit Card

  • Step 1: Open the website of PESSAT.
  • Step 2: Candidates will have to click on the available link of the PESSAT Admit card/ Hall ticket.
  • Step 3: After clicking on the link, a new window will open where you have to provide your credential details.
  • Step 4: After the login, you will see a slot booking section which will display on the monitor screen, now you have to book your slot (date and time).
  • Step 5: After booking the slots, candidates will be required to download the PESSAT 2024 admit card.
  • Step 6: Now review the admit card, and then download it.
  • Step 7: In the last, candidates will have to take a hard copy of the admit card for future reference.

PESSAT 2024 Exam Center 

The allocated exam center will be notified on the PESSAT 2024 admit card. PESSAT 2024 will be conducted in different states, different cities, and different exam centers. For PESSAT 2024, there will be a total of 34 exam centers all across the nation. While filling the PESSAT 2024 application form, candidates have to fill the option for the exam center. The exam center will be allotted based on the preferences filled by the candidates. It should be remembered that once the center will be allotted then no change will be granted by the University.

PESSAT 2024 Result

The PESSAT 2024 result will be published online on the official website of PES University. It should be remembered that the authorities will not be going to provide you the PESSAT result by using post, mail, or any other offline mode. The PESSAT result will consist of the sectional score, overall score, and rank obtained by the candidates. The candidate will be able to download the result by entering their registration no., and date of birth. After the declaration of the result, the cutoff of PESSAT 2024 will be released by the authority.

How to Check PESSAT 2024 Result

  • Open the web address (pes.edu/pessat) and then click on the ‘Check B.Tech Results’ link.
  • Next, you have to enter your Registration no., Date of Birth, and then click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  • After entering the details, the result of PESSAT 2024 will display on the screen.
  • Now you have to download the PESSAT result, and then take a printout of it.
  • Until the finalization of the seat allotment process, you should keep the PESSAT result safe.

PESSAT 2024 Cut Off

The cutoff of PESSAT 2024 will be released on the official website in online mode after few weeks of the completion of the exam. All those candidates who have cleared the cutoff will be shortlisted, and then call for the counseling process. The PESSAT cut off will be different for the different round, and different courses released by the PES University.

The cut Off of PESSAT will be determined depending on the candidate’s rank. Every course and different branch of the engineering program will have a distinct PESSAT Cut Off. Determinants of the PESSAT Cut Off

The cut-off for PESSAT 2024 will be determined based on the different factors. Since the factor affects the cutoff every year in a different way so a variation in cut-off also takes place accordingly every year. The factors that affect the cutoff are listed below.

  • The difficulty level of the questions
  • No. of candidates appeared for the exam
  • Previous years’ cut-off trends
  • No. of candidates who qualify for the exam
  • Reservation policy of the university
  • Total no. of available seats

PESSAT 2024 Counselling

It is expected that the exam conducting authorities will conduct counseling in two rounds for all those candidates who cleared the cutoff marks of PESSAT. All the shortlisted candidates, who cleared the cutoff and are eligible for counseling will have to report to the allotted center with the requisite documents. During the PESSAT counseling, candidates are required to choose their preference of desired course, and specializations & name of colleges for admission to the respective course. It is mandatory to attend the counseling process personally by the candidates until or unless there’s some unavoidable cause of absence. In this case, another person can be representative of the candidate but they must have the downloaded official letter in the respective regard.

During the counseling process, the following documents will be needed for DV i.e. Document Verification.

  • PESSAT 2024 Admit Card
  • PESSAT 2024 Rank Card
  • Marks sheet of Class 10th (SSLC)/ Birth Certificate
  • Mark sheet of class 10+2 or equivalent exam (PUC) (original/ provisional, the provisional mark sheet will be with the original handwritten signature by the authority of the college to be produced for verification)
  • Transfer Certificate/ College Leaving Certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Migration Certificate (If other than PU Board) (if applicable)
  • Passport & Stamp Size Photos 4 Copies each of both
  • Two separate DDs (Demand Drafts) of Rs 3,20,000 & Rs 10,000 will be drawn in favor of the PES UNIVERSITY GENERAL FUND that will be payable at the Bangalore center.

All those candidates who present worth and satisfy the specified criteria of the various scholarships will be awarded for cash reward/ fee-waiver. The different types of scholarships offered through PESSAT have been mentioned below.

Corporate Scholarships: There are various numbers of companies (Private/ Corporate) that grant this scholarship to the final year’s PSE students.

MRD Scholarships: A maximum 40% reservation in tuition fee is granted to the students who ranked in the top 20%.

Distinction Awards: Candidates whose score is above 7.5 in CGPA will get a distinction reward. 

Rural Scholarship: A few no. of selected PESSAT candidates belonging to rural backgrounds will get a free education scholarship education in engineering.

Research Scholarship: PES University also rants the research scholarship to those candidates who show enthusiasm and superiority in research work under the PES faculty members.

PESSAT FAQ’S

I am appearing for the +2 exam, am I eligible for the PESSAT Exam?

Yes, if you are appearing in the qualifying exam i.e. +2 exam then definitely you can apply for PESSAT. Provided that your final result should be declared before the last date of admission to the course.

How many attempts of PESSAT are allowed?

Only a single attempt is allowed to appear for PESSAT.

Is there Management Quota in PES University?

Yes. For Indian/ NRI students, management quota seats are available for tuition fees payable every year.

Can I fill the application form via offline mode?

No, you can’t. The application form will be filled via online mode only.

What is the Abbreviation of PES University?

Is there any negative marking in PESSAT?

No, there are no negative marking criteria in PESSAT for any wrong answer so candidates can attempt questions as many as possible.

When can I book my slot to take the PESSAT exam for B.Tech?

The exam slot to take the PESSAT exam for B.Tech. is booked every year in the month of April. So candidates are instructed to visit the University’s website regularly in April month.
