NEST 2023 Exam Pattern: There will be a total of four sections asked in the entrance exam that are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER) and The University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai (UM–DAE CEBS) have prepared the NEST 2023 Exam Pattern. NEST 2023 Exam Pattern Details

Candidates should prepare for the NEST 2023 with the help of the exam pattern. The entrance examination is likely to be held on June 2023. Check the exam pattern shared below in the following points. Check NEST 2023 Admit Card.

  • Exam Mode: NEST 2023 entrance exam is a computer-based test and will be conducted online mode.
  • Time Limit: The time limit will be 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the exam.
  • Sections: There will be a total of four sections in the exam which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • Questions Type: The exam will consist of a multiple-choice question paper.
  • The medium of the Exam: The medium of the question paper will be the English language.
  • Number of Questions: There will be a total of 200 questions asked in the exam
  • Marking Scheme: The candidates will be allotted 1 mark for each correct answer.

NEST 2023 Marking Scheme

  • There is a total of 200 marks questions asked in the exam. Thus, the candidates can secure a maximum of 200 marks (One paper from PCMB is excluded).
  • No negative marking will be there in the general ability section. But there will be a negative marking in the other three sections.
  • Check the subjects-wise distribution of the marks mentioned in the following pattern.
