Following the release of the JEE Main 2022 results for both sessions, JoSAA will announce the JEE Main Cut Off for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The cutoff percentage is the minimum score required to be accepted into the B.Tech/B.E., B.Arch/B.Planning, and other programs at NITs, IIITs, and other participating colleges.
The qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff for JEE Main 2022 will be made public. The JEE Main Cut-off percentile for the General category in 2021 was 87.8992241 and for OBC-NCL it was 68.0234447, which is a slight decrease from 2020. We have included the cut-off for the previous year in this article.
For B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Pan admission to 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and 29 other GFTIs, the JEE Main Admission Cut-off 2022 will, on the other hand, be made public by JoSAA. For each round of JoSAA Counseling, the admission cut-off is, however, announced as the opening and closing ranks. Getting marks above 200 (equivalent to a rank below 5000) would be necessary for admission to the top 5 NITs based on the previous year’s cut-offs.
The dates for the JEE Main 2022 Exam have changed; Phase 1 will now take place from 20 to 29 June 2022, and Phase 2 will take place from 21 to 30 July 2022. Phase 2 JEE Main Registration will soon begin on the official website.

As previously mentioned, the cutoff for JEE Main is determined using a number of variables. JEE Main Cut-off was also influenced by marks earned in Class 12th board exams taken earlier (2013-2016). Board exams for Class 12th were given a weight of 40% when determining JEE Main rank. However, the following are the main considerations that determine the JEE Main cutoff:
The candidates’ average marks are calculated as follows:

Candidates will need to search through the entire PDF document to find the cutoff marks that apply to their category because the JEE Main cutoff marks will be released as a PDF document.
JoSAA and CSAB handle the process of allocating seats for admission in 100 institutes that take part (23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, and 23 GFTIs). Seats will be given out based on merit, the number of seats available, and choice preference (at the time of registration for counseling). Before the real seat assignment, there will be a mock assignment in two rounds. So, candidates will know what their preferences are and be able to make better choices for themselves in the actual rounds of seat allocation.
Based on their JEE Main 2022 score and rank, candidates can use the JEE Main 2022 College Predictor to estimate their chances of admission to prestigious GFTIs, NITs, and IIITs. The JEE Main college predictor on Collegedunia uses data from previous years’ admission cut-offs (opening & closing ranks) to generate a list of the best colleges for B.Tech and B.Arch admissions.
According to the JEE Main Seat Matrix, there are seats available at IITs, NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs. JoSAA Seat Matrix for the 2022–2023 academic year will be made available soon. In the meantime, candidates can review the past category-wise seat allocation for all participating institutions in the table below:

JoSAA will announce the JEE Main 2022 admission cutoff following the conclusion of counseling.
The JEE Main qualifying marks are arbitrary due to a number of variables that are essential to their calculation and normalization. The cutoff for students in the general category is typically predicted to be between 89 and 100. To be on the safe side and increase your chances of admission to one of the nation’s top institutions, it is ideal to score higher than this mark or rank under 15,000.
Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, or Bangladesh must apply under the u0022Foreign Categoryu0022 for JEE Main 2021. Such candidates were required to complete and submit the JEE Main 2022 application form. The foreign category candidates are not subject to any special restrictions or quotas.
To gain a better rank for admission to elite institutions the following year, it is not advisable to skip a year. There are numerous private colleges and state-level universities that offer standard education, if not up to the level of IITs and NITs. Instead of wasting a full year, you can continue with your engineering degree from any of these institutions.
Candidates who intend to take the JEE Main exam should be aware that NTA has withdrawn the minimum eligibility requirement of 75%. Now, candidates with a 12th-grade passing certificate may apply for JEE Main Phase 1.
No, not all categories have the same cut-off. The maximum and minimum scores needed for each category are published separately by NTA. Additionally, JoSAA publishes separate JEE Main Admission Cut-Offs for each category for B.Tech admission to NITs and IIITs.
JEE Main 2022 will have two different cutoffs: a qualifying cutoff and an admission cutoff. Phase 2 JEE Main results will include the qualifying cutoff, and JoSAA will release the admission cutoff during the seat allocation process (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).
