Knowing the format of the JEE Main’s B. Planning paper is crucial because it gives you a clear idea of how much time to devote to each section based on the anticipated number of questions. Candidates frequently create schedules that are less effective. Your headache from investing in the wrong direction will be avoided with accurate exam pattern information. The nature of the questions and the marking scheme will also help you develop paper-attempting strategies.
Since the papers differ depending on the requirements of each course, it is very advantageous for applicants that there are separate papers for B.Arch and B.Planning. Either of these papers, or both, may be attempted by students. The B.Arch and B.Planning exams both contain sections on mathematics and aptitude because proficiency in these areas is required for enrollment in both programs. But the third section of these two papers is different. The B.Arch paper contains questions that are appropriate for B.Arch courses, whereas the B.Planning paper’s Planning-based questions section contains questions that are only pertinent to B.Planning courses.

Different papers for B. Arch and B. Planning
B.Arch. and B.Planning. papers were combined until 2019. A separate exam was held in 2020 for the first time in JEE Mains history for candidates who specifically wanted to apply for B.Planning courses. JEE Main 2023 will therefore be divided into three sections:
Students can now choose to show up for one, two, or all three papers, depending on their preference.
Type of Questions | For Each Correct Answer | For Each Incorrect Answer | For Each Unanswered Question |
---|---|---|---|
For MCQs | +4 | -1 | 0 |
For NAT | +4 | 0 | 0 |
Trick 1: Go over the B. Planning paper in detail.
Read the JEE main B. Planning paper once you receive it to identify the simple and challenging questions. Make sure to respond to the simple questions first so that you don’t lose out on a high score later on for failing to attempt them all. Since the Planning section is typically the simplest of the three, it is strongly advised that you try it first.
Read How to Prepare for JEE Main B. Planning Paper for more information.
Trick 2: Avoid devoting excessive time to any one question.
In the B. Planning paper, you must be careful not to spend more than 5 minutes on MCQs and NAT questions. If you don’t, you’ll fall behind and be unable to finish the entire paper in three hours. Additionally, you won’t have enough time to check your responses again. Continue to the next question if you are ever unable to respond to one. The challenging questions can be noted so that you can return to them at the conclusion of the test.
Trick 3: Maintain your optimism and confidence.
Maintaining your self-assurance and positivity while preparing is crucial. When you get the exam paper, anxiety will make you forget what you were supposed to answer. You must feel confident in your ability to have adequately prepared for the B. Planning paper.
Trick 4: Avoid guessing at random in multiple-choice questions.
MCQs in the JEE Main B. Planning paper receive negative markings. You must be careful to avoid responding to these inquiries at random. Even at the very end, if a question still has no resolution, leave it unanswered.
Trick 5: Focus on the specifics of the questions.
Avoid letting anxiety affect how you read the questions. To correctly respond to each question, you must concentrate on every tiny component.
Trick 6: Make use of rough work
Execute your preliminary work in a clear manner. Rough work that has been contaminated will cause confusion and further complicate a problem. Make sure to label your preliminary work with the question numbers so that you can easily locate it later.
Trick 7: Verify your responses.
You must check your responses on the JEE Main B. Planning paper very carefully. You must double-check your responses, especially in the planning section.
JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern changes resulted from the MHRD’s announcement that the CBSE class XI and XII syllabus would be reduced by 30%. For the JEE Main Syllabus, however, no modifications have been made public to date.
