JEE Main B.E/B.Tech Paper Pattern

A majority of test takers prefer to take the B.E./ B.Tech exam on the JEE Main because it assesses students’ knowledge in three subject areas, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and because there are so many other fields from which to pick in the future.
With the reduction in the CBSE syllabus, the JEE Main B.E./ B.Tech Exam Pattern underwent significant changes in the preceding session.
Each section’s total number of questions has increased. Candidates must respond to 25 of the questions from each of the three sections, which include a total of 30 questions. There will be 10 NAT questions overall (up from 5 last year), and students will have the option of responding to any five of the questions in each part.

Candidates who are enrolled in or have passed class XII are eligible to take the CBT-administered exam. In the preceding session, numerical value questions were included to the B.E./B.Tech paper’s paper format. The number of questions was decreased from 90 to 75, and JEE Main 2022 would follow the same pattern.

NTA’s Updates to the JEE Main 2022 B.E./ B. Tech Paper Pattern

The computer-based test (CBT) format will be used for the JEE Main B.E./B. Tech paper. The paper will be divided into three sections: physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

  • Students may select to answer any five of the ten Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions that are distributed among the three sections.
  • There will be 20 MCQs in each segment, and all of the questions must be answered.
  • Each MCQ will receive 4 marks if answered correctly. An incorrect response will result in a mark deduction of one.
  • Each NAT question will receive 4 points if answered correctly. A false response will result in a score deduction of 0 points.
  • The paper will take three hours to complete in total.
  • There will be a 300 point maximum for each exam.

Tricks for JEE Main 2022 B.E/ B. Tech Exam

  • Trick 1 – Do the Chemistry portion first, then the Math, and then the Physics. The questions are often simpler and more fact-based in the chemistry part. According to the updated JEE Main 2022 B.E./B.Tech Exam Pattern, each section will have 10 NAT questions and 25 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). 25 MCQs and 5 NAT questions must be answered by the students. The exam is administered using a computer-based test (CBT).
