IIT JAM 2023 Application Form
The registration process for JAM 2023 will start on 7th September 2022. It is recommended that applicants complete the JAM registration form on the JOAPS website. The JAM application form is only available in online mode. Only those people who have passed their degree with at least a 50 percent mark can apply. The applicants must first register and then complete the required detail in the form, upload the pictures and certificates and pay the application fee when submitting their JAM application form.
After the JAM application form is submitted, the official examination body shall verify all submitted documents and upload the status of rejection or acceptance, or if the form has any defect. The multiple requests submitted by a single applicant are to be rejected. In addition, if the applicants fail to submit a required document with the JAM 2023 application form, the applicants are required to submit a PDF or Docx undertaking.
- The application form for IIT JAM 2023 can be published online.
- Applicants can fill in the registration form by JOAPS from 7th September 2022
- Multiple applications submitted by candidates can be refused.
- Applicants must upload the documents required, such as a photograph, signature, and other documents, including certificates of the category (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), etc.
- The last registration date will be until 11th October 2022.
- The candidate shall not be permitted to make any correction in the application form after the application form has been submitted.
- Applicants must carefully complete all the details and submit them on time.
- Until the admission process is over, keep the printout of the application form.

JAM 2023 Application Form Correction
Applicants should note that after submitting an application form, it can not be corrected. However, if applicants wish to change the number of test papers or gender after submission of JAM 2023, then they can do this by paying the additional application fee. IIT JAM 2023 Eligibility Criteria
IISc Bangalore discloses the JAM 2023 eligibility criteria for various courses together with the application form. IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2023 is the minimum educational qualification everybody must have for enrollment to participating JAM Institutes during the final qualification examination.
- Nationality: The Indian/Foreign nationals are eligible to apply.
- Qualifying Exam: The applicants need to have a Bachelor’s degree or should be appearing in the last year of a bachelor’s degree.
- Required Marks: The applicant should have aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) of at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates, in the qualifying degree.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for the candidates to apply.

- The Admitting Institute shall have the right to cancel the admission of an applicant to a course for which he/she is not eligible. This only happens if the candidate is unskilled or inadmissible under the rules and regulations.

IIT JAM 2023 Admission Process
To obtain access to IITs and to pass through the strict selection process, the steps listed below are to be followed.
Step 1: Filling the IIT JAM Application Form
The first step is to complete the registration form via the JAM online application processing system (JOAPS). The link is provided on the official website, so it is only necessary to do the entire process in the online mode. In order to finish the application process via net banking/debit card or credit card, the registration fee must also be paid online. Candidates may apply for a maximum of two papers requiring additional fee payment.
Step 2: Download IIT JAM Admit Card
You can download your admit card from the official website online. A hard copy of the hall ticket and valid ID proof must be brought to the exam center. It is advisable to keep the admission card until the counseling process finishes.
Step 3: Appear for IIT JAM Exam and Check Results
Appear at the assigned test center for examination. In the event that applicants have requested more than 1 paper, they must be available for both. Absence from any paper is regarded as a void test paper.
After the results on the official website are announced, applicants must download their scorecard for any further process. The All India Rank List is prepared for all six test papers, if the candidate’s names appear on the merit list, they will be regarded for the admission process.
Step 4: Fill Admission Form for IIT JAM Counselling
If applicants are able to qualify for more than one test paper, only a single admission form must be filled, as indicated by the conducting authorities. After completing the properly completed admission form for counseling the INR 600 processing charge should be paid.
Step 5: Admission List Announcement
The leading body IIT Kanpur shall declare an admission list when the admission form submission process is completed. The enrolment letter will be forwarded by the respective colleges to selected applicants.

Note: In a scenario, if seats go vacant after the announcement of the first admission list, IITs will release consecutive admission list.
As informed by the official website, admission will be granted in order of merit, a mere reflection of the name in the merit list does not guarantee admission.
IIT JAM 2023 Admit Card
The admit card is available under the respective logins of the registered JAM applicants. The admit card can be obtained by using the JAM email/registration number and password only in online mode. The JAM admit card is not sent via post or personal e-mails to any applicant.

I am unable to download my JAM 2023 admit card what to do?
In case of an applicant is unable to access the admit card, the Chairman of the respective IISc / IITs, JAM 2023, may be approached by phone/fax/e-mail for the first choice test city/town. The applicants must provide the desired Test Centre’s registration ID, name, email ID, mobile number, mail address, and city code (first choice) when having a discussion.
Note: Check correctly the details on the admit card. If the admit card varies considerably, contact the authorities concerned right away.
IIT JAM 2023 Syllabus
There will be various topics and chapters in the IIT JAM syllabus, including biological science, biotechnology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and geology, etc. Some of the syllabus topics are provided below:
Geology:
This section will include geomorphology, the planet earth, structural geology, paleontology, stratigraphy, petrology, economic geology, applied geology, and mineralogy, etc.
Mathematics Statics:
It includes differential calculus, integral calculus, matrix, sequence and series, probability, random variables, joint distributions, sampling distributions, estimation, limit theorem, testing of hypothesis, etc.
Chemistry:

IIT JAM 2023 Preparation Tips
The most important part of the preparation is the development of the exam preparation strategy. JAM 2023 is regarded as one of the hardest exams and a solid strategy for the test has to be developed. JAM candidates have to check the following preparation steps of IIT JAM 2023 in order to boost preparation and perform well in the exam.

JAM Mock Test 2023
From the 3rd week of November 2022, IIT, Guwahati will provide a link to the JAM 2023 mock test. JAM applicants can take the IIT JAM mock test 2023 to understand the question paper and get to know the JAM online exam. The JAM 2023 mock test will be free of charge and anyone can be tested because the credentials for the mock test are not required. The amount of IIT JAM mock test 2023 attempts is not limited.

IIT JAM 2023 Exam Pattern
Although the examination pattern will differ according to the candidate’s chosen course, here is a basic outline of the examination and the type of questions asked in the IIT JAM exam:
- Mode: The mode of the exam is online-based(Computer-Based Test).
- A number of questions: A total of 60 questions will be asked in the exam.
- Time Duration: The applicants will be given 3 hours to finish the full test.
- Maximum Marks: A total of 100 marks will be awarded in the exam.

Applicants are mandated to choose the answer using the mouse for MCQ and MSQ-type questions. You can enter an answer to NAT questions using a virtual numeric keypad (the computer keyboard is disabled).
Marking Scheme
- There is no provision of negative marking in sections B and C.
- However, in section A, 1/3 marks are deducted for attempting the wrong answer of 1 mark, and 2/3 marks are deducted for the wrong answer of 2 marks.
IIT JAM 2023 Answer Key
once the examination ends, the conducting body publishes the JAM response key a few days later. The response key is uploaded in PDF format and JOAPS does not require a login to download them. The official answer key JAM 2023 is published separately for all 6 papers and has the right answer to all questions posed during the test. Using the answer key applicants can get a JAM score assessment even before the results are announced.
In the event that an applicant finds that the answer is incorrect, they can challenge the response key by signing into JOAPS. A fee will be charged per challenge, which is reimbursed if the corresponding challenge is approved.
Challenge Fees (Bases on Previous Year): Rs. 500.
If the challenges are approved, a final answer key with frozen answers will be released. This key is used to calculate the result of JAM 2023. The final reply key can not be further challenged.
Marking Scheme to Calculate Marks Using JAM 2023 Answer Key
For Correct Answer:
- For 1 mark MCQ – add 1 marks
- For 2 marks MCQ – add 2 marks
- For 1 mark NAT – add 1 marks
- For 2 mark NAT – add 2 marks
For Incorrect Answer:
- For 1 mark MCQ – deduct 1/3 marks
- For 2 marks MCQ – deduct 2/3 marks
- There is no provision for negative marking for NAT. So, no need to deduct marks.
IIT JAM 2023 Result
The outcome of JAM 2023 will be published online mode on 22 March 2023. Applicants must enter their enrollment ID or email ID and password in the result login window on the JOAPS portal to check the outcome of JAM 2023. In the last week of March 2023, the scorecard of JAM 2023 will be announced. The results of JAM 2023 include information such as the marks earned in the examination by the applicant, the name of the applicant, the category of the applicant, the name of the curriculum applied, and the date of the exam. Based on their performance in the examination, the institute will announce the All India Ranks of the test takers.

How to Break a Tie in Results?
In a test paper, the tie-breaking criterion for granting ranks to applicants scoring the same cumulative marks is as follows:
- A higher rank will be awarded to applicants with a higher ratio of positive to negative marks.
- If this requirement fails to break ties, the identical rank will be granted to the concerned applicants.
IIT JAM 2023 Merit List
The merit list 2023 of the IIT JAM will be published with the result.
An All India merit list will be formulated based on AIR for each test paper. The number of applicants included in the All India Merit List depends on the total amount of seats offered for a given subject in each category (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD).
These applicants will be qualified to apply to any of the relevant IITs and IISc applications. The applicants listed in the All India Merit List will be based on the category stated in their application by the applicants.
IIT JAM 2023 Cut Off
On the basis of the cut-off marks issued by the official authority, applicants will be picked for counseling. Applicants for the enrollment process should be needed to have the IIT JAM required cut-off marks for every subject.
Applicants will be called for counseling after the release of the cut-off marks. The applicants will be admitted by the participating institutes on the basis of cut-off marks. The separate merit list for offering admission to their campus will be released by all IITs and IISc.

IIT JAM 2023 Counselling
Counseling will be required for applicants whose names appear on the merit list. The applicants can participate by online mode in the IIT JAM counseling. After the release of the result, qualified applicants shall complete the admission form.
In June 2023 the first list of admissions will be available. The entry form is available via the website in online mode. As admission fee, the applicants pay Rs. 600/-. Applicants may select courses according to preferences, percentage, categories, qualifications, etc.
The form will be released on April 2023. Applicants are suggested during admission to bring their original documents.

JAM Seats 2023
The joint admission test for M.Sc programs is carried out for JAM 2023 admissions in M.Sc and above postgraduate courses, with 2445 seats. In different programs, JAM 2023 seats are provided in 20 IITs and IISc Bangalore. JAM 2023 seats will be provided to applicants on the basis of the cut-off and the counseling processes of the participating institutions. Applicants who participate in JAM 2023 should verify the overall number of category and program-wise seats accessible for all IIT JAM institutes.

About IIT JAM
20 IITs and IISc Bangalore offer enrollment through the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. programs to MSc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph. D., M.Sc.-Ph. D. Dual Degree programmes. The entry test is a computer-based exam. The entrance examination will take place in a total of 70 examination centres in 8 different IIT zones across the country. Seven test papers are available: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Economics, Geology and Mathematical Sciences. The question paper, divided into three sections, consists of 60 questions. The total examination mark is 100.
