GCET Result 2023: The result for the Goa CET 2023 will be declared online by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa in June 2023. The result of GCET 2023 will be available in a PDF format including details such as the roll number of the qualified GCET candidates and their scores subject-wise.

In order to know the GCET result 2023, candidates have to click on the result link from the official website or the one available below. The GCET 2023 result only contains the candidates’ roll numbers and not their names. 

Candidates have to fill out the GCET 2023 application form, in order to take admission via the GCET 2023 exam. Applicants can get the admission forms easily on the official website. In accordance with the course they want themselves to be enrolled in, the candidates can fill out the admission form.

GCET is a state-level entrance exam administered by the Technical Education Directorate, Goa. the main aim of the examination is to provide admission in various courses related to Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Courses. How to Check GCET/GOA CET 2023 Results?

Step 1: Go to dte.goa.gov.in, i.e. the official website of GCET

Step 2: Click on the link ‘GCET Results Declared’.

Step 3: The result will be available in a pdf format. The names of all the qualified candidates will be included in that pdf file.

Step 4: The result will include, the candidate’s Name, Roll Number Category, Marks Scored in each subject, and Rank will be mentioned.

Step 5: All the qualified candidates must download and take out a print of the scorecard as it will be required during the counseling process.

Tie Resolution for GCET 2023 Results

In case the same score is obtained by two or more candidates, followed by a similar rank, the  interest merit will be incorporated to resolve the tie, This includes the following:

  • Those applicants who score higher in mathematics are given the first preference
  • If two candidates secure the same marks in mathematics, the candidate with a jigger score in chemistry will be preferred to break the tie
  • In case of a tie still, the students with more aggregate marks in mathematics, chemistry, and physics will get an advantage.
  • Candidates who have obtained more marks in class XII mathematics will get the preference if the tie still persists.
  • If all the above steps fail to break the tie, the applicant who is elder in age will be placed on a higher position on the merit list.

GCET Merit List 2023

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa will declare the provisional merit list for GCET 2023. All those applicants who have appeared for the GCET 2023 exam will be provided access to the GCET 2023 provisional merit list, once it is published on the official website of DTE-Goa. This is followed by the release of the final merit list of GCET 2023, which is prepared on the basis of the GCET 2023 cut-off score. 

The GCET provisional merit list will include the applicant’s ranks in GCET besides the marks scored in the class 12 board examination. In case of any issue, the applicants must report to the concerned authorities within 24 hours. 

GCET Merit List for Medical Course

The authorities who are in charge will prepare the merit lists to get admitted to MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurveda), AHS, B.V.Sc & A.H, and Nursing. This is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in NEET 2023. The Score Card/All India Rank/Percentile secured in NEET-UG as issued by NTA will be taken into consideration. 

GCET Merit List for Bachelor of Engineering

Based upon the scores secured by the applicants in Mathematics and Physics, the merit list will be prepared. In the case of a tie, candidates containing higher marks in Mathematics will be preferred, followed by which the marks in Chemistry will be considered. 

If the candidates secure similar marks in Chemistry as well, those with higher marks in Physics and Mathematics at the intermediate level/ Qualifying Examination will be considered. Furthermore, if the tie still continues, students senior by age will be given the advantage.

GCET Merit List for Pharmacy

Based on the marks secured in Physics and Chemistry, the merit list will be prepared for the course of Pharmacy. If there is a tie, students with greater scores in Chemistry will be given consideration. 

If the tie continues to persist, a candidate with a greater aggregate score in Physics and Chemistry at the intermediate level will be given weightage in the selection process. Those who secure greater marks in Chemistry will be placed higher on Merit List. In the end, the tie will be broken based on the applicant’s age. Those with an earlier date of birth will be placed higher in order. 

GCET Merit List for Architecture

After the exam, the Provisional Merit List will be declared. The Merit List for Bachelor in Architecture will be prepared by considering the aggregate marks in the Qualifying Examination and marks obtained in NATA 2023. Both the scores will be taken into consideration with 50% marks each in the ratio of 1:1. If there is a tie, students with more NATA scores will be given preference. Followed by this, applicants with high marks in Mathematics will be placed higher on Merit. 


GCET 2023 Cut Off

Minimum scores to be obtained by the applicants seeking admission to various undergraduate engineering courses at the universities and colleges in Goa are determined by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa. 

  • DTE, Goa is the competent authority that conducts GCET 2023 and also takes decisions regarding the GCET 2023 cutoff score.
  • The cutoff determinants for GCET 2023 include multiple factors such as the total number of candidates, seat capacity of the respective courses,  reservation policy,  candidates’ performance, and difficulty level of the paper.
  • All those candidates who do not meet the GCET cut-off 2023 will be not considered eligible for admissions to B. Tech/BE programs at the universities and colleges in Goa.
  • The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa prepares GCET 2023 merit list based on the GCET 2023 cutoff.
  • Seats will be allocated in accordance with the marks in GCET 2023 merit list

No, a 12th dropout candidate appears for GCET 2023 exam. An applicant must have passed the 12th standard from Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination to appear for the exam.
