GATE 2024 Preparation Tips

The GATE is the most popular and demanding test for all engineering students who want to go for higher education or want to recruit under PSUs. Every year about 8- 10 lakh students fill this form. So competition is very high and consequently, you need a strong preparation strategy. Here we have recommended some tips and tricks to make your preparation better.

  • First of all, download the syllabus of GATE for respective subjects and read the syllabus to get an idea that which topic you need to read for this test purpose.
  • Make a proper timetable and divide the study time into slots.
  • Give proper time on your weak topics to make them stronger and also work on your strong topics to make the strongest.
  •  Set daily goals, weekly goals, and monthly goals according to the syllabus.
  • Give at least 1/2 hour to the general aptitude portion as it contributes 15% marks of total and it is considered as an easy portion for engineering students.
  • Solve and analyze the pattern of PYQs (Previous Year Questions), it will help you to understand the type of important questions, difficulty level of the exam, etc.
  • You should have to be clear whether you need coaching(online/ offline) or not. If you need coaching then go for it. But if you think you can prepare well by self-study only then start your preparation as early as possible.
  • Revise the whole syllabus 4-5 times before the GATE exam.
