CUCET 2023 Exam Pattern: The central universities conduct CUCET which is a national level exam. The CUCET 2023 consists of two parts that are likely to be held in the time period of 2 days. There are two sections in the paper of CUCET 2023. The first part contains general questions applicable to all the applicants. Part-B comprises subject-specific based questions, to judge the applicant’s ability and knowledge in their respective niche.

CUCET 2023 Exam Pattern

The applicants need to understand the exam pattern before they appear for the competitive exam. The applicants can get to know about the types and pattern of questions, the total number of questions asked in the exam, marking scheme with the help of the exam pattern.

Detailed CUCET 2023 Exam Pattern for UI and PG Programmes

  • The test is of the objective type that is OMR-based. 
  • There are two parts to the paper such that: Part: General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude, Analytical Skills, and Language. There will be a total of 25 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in Part A. Part B comprises Domain Knowledge; There will be three to five sections in this part. There will be 25 questions assigned to each section. The applicants need to attempt any of the three sections that have a total of 75 questions.
  • There will be a single paper consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions for the applicants applying for MBA/LL.B/MCA/integrated courses or other general courses. The questions will cover topics from the subjects such as English Language, Reasoning, Analytical Skills, General Awareness, and Data Interpretations/Numerical Ability
  • The applicants must mark the right response on the given OMR sheet. And if the applicants have selected more than one answer on the OMR sheet for any specific question then it will be considered as a wrong answer along with the negative marking. 
  • There will be negative marking in CUCET 2023 for UI and PG courses. 1 mark will be assigned to the applicants for the correct answer and 0.25 marks are deducted for the wrong answer
  • The questions that are left unanswered will not be taken into consideration for the final merit list. 
  • The exam duration will be of two hours for CUCET 2023 for UI and PG courses.

Detailed CUCET 2023 Exam Pattern for RP Programmes

The applicants applying for RP Programmes can get the complete information about the exam pattern in the following points:

  • The test is a Computer Based Test (CBT) that will be held in online mode. 
  • There will be two parts in the exam: Part A: General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude, Language, Research Methodology, and Analytical Skills. There will be a total of 50 MCQs in this part. Part B will consist of Domain Knowledge that has a total of 50 MCQs.
  • The candidate needs to mark one right response by selecting the circle that will appear on the screen.
  • CUCET 2023 for RP courses will have no negative marking. 
  • There will be a total of two hours of time duration allotted for CUCET 2023 for RP courses.

CUCET Exam Pattern 2023 Marking Scheme

There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks as the negative marking for each incorrect answer. 1 mark will be assigned to the applicants for every correct answer. The unanswered or unattempted questions will not be taken into the consideration. Thus, the maximum marks of combining both the papers will be 100 marks and -25 considered for the minimum marks. CUCET 2023 Preparation Tips

  1. The applicants willing to score good marks in the exam are advised to refer to the CUCET exam pattern to make a good strategy for the exam preparation.
  2. Candidates can refer to the previous year’s question papers and can download the same to understand the type and the pattern of questions asked in the test and get a complete overview of the exam structure.
  3. The sample paper available online mode. The candidates can solve the sample paper and attempt the mock test to improve the weak areas for better preparation.
  4. The candidates can take the help of an experienced mentor in the complex topics to avoid any kind of error in the exam
  5. The candidates need to practice difficulty level topics on a daily basis to improve their speed and accuracy

CUCET 2023 Syllabus

Along with the official notification, the CUCET 2023 syllabus will be declared by the conducting authority on the official website. The CUCET 2023 syllabus is vast in nature. The applicants need to prepare for the preferred subjects, as well as Paper A, which has a total of 25 MCQs to judge the knowledge in the Reasoning ability and Language skill. 

The aspirants will get a variety of books available both in online and offline mode for the preparation of Paper A. The candidates need to revise the syllabus of the UG and PG course if they will be applying for PG courses or any other Research Programmes.


CUCET Exam Pattern 2023 Important Instructions

  • There will be an option for the candidates to attempt any three sections with a combination of PCM/ PCB. It is compulsory for the applicants to appear in 10 +2 in the required subjects at the 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exam.

What is the total duration of CUCET for integrated/undergraduate and postgraduate programmes?

The CUCET for integrated/undergraduate and postgradute programs exam duration is of 2 hours.

Will the UG question paper be conducted online for the 2023 year?

No. The candidates need to mark the right response for the UG and PG courses in the OMR Sheet that is offline mode. The candidates need to mark the response on the computer in online mode for RP courses.

Have there been any changes in CUCET exam pattern over the years?

The Domain Knowledge section is Part B. There will be four sections in this part and out of it the applicants can attempt any of three sections from the combination of PCM or PCB.

Will there be negative marking?

Yes. There will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect answer in question papers of the UG and PG course. RP Programs has no negative marking

Is CUCET for research programmes an online or offline exam?

CUCET 2023 for research programmes is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that is online mode.
