CLAT 2023: CLAT Eligibility Criteria, Application Form (Started), Qualification Required

CLAT Eligibility Criteria: CLAT exam is a national level entrance exam known as “Common Law Admission Test“. National Law University will manage the CLAT exam in 2022. CLAT is conducted for aspiring students to join in the undergraduate and post-graduate law courses.

Most of the government colleges and private colleges accept the scorecard of CLAT exam 2023.

The Odisha National Level University, Cuttack will hold the CLAT exam in Dec 2022. It is a single unified entrance test for aspiring students to pursue the courses of LLB and LLM.

Nineteen National Law Colleges of India will manage the CLAT exam 2023 rotationally. The CLAT score obtained in the exam also helps the students to get admission in best top colleges across the country.

Eligibility Criteria CLAT Exam 2023

The eligibility criteria of the CLAT exam provides the complete details of minimum requirements for applying the law test.

Every student must read the minimum requirements carefully before filling the application.

Nationality: CLAT Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a citizen of India.
  • Applications for the NRI students also accepted.
  • No need to appear foreign national candidates for the CLAT exam as they can directly apply to the institutions.

Age: CLAT Eligibility Criteria

No upper age limit to apply for the exam.

For Undergraduate Course:

  • Qualification Marks: Candidate should pass the higher secondary school from a recognized board with minimum 45% aggregate for the OBC category. candidate belonging to the SC/ST category should get minimum 40% aggregate.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are also appearing for the qualifying exams also can apply for CLAT exam 2023. However, they should produce evidence of qualifying exam at the time of admission.

In case of equal marks, then:

  1. Higher marks in the legal aptitude section.
  2. Higher age.

For Postgraduation Course:

  • Qualification: Candidate should pass the LLB or five years LLB from a recognized university with minimum 55% aggregate for OBC. For SC/ST, the candidate should get 50% aggregate.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidate should appear in the final year examination of pursuing a degree at the time of admission.

In case of equal marks, then:

  1. Higher marks in the legal aptitude section.
  2. Higher age.
