BHU UET 2022: BHU UET Eligibility Criteria, Qualification Required

BHU UET 2022 application forms will be released on the online portal of BHU in January 2022. Only candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria shall apply. Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Exam (BHU UET) is conducted every year by Banaras Hindu University for giving admissions in the Undergraduate Programs of the University in all streams.

BHU UET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Following is the eligibility criteria for BHU UET 2022 :

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board in India.
  • Candidates should not be older than 22 years as of 1st July 2022.
  • The upper age limit for SC/ST/PC categories is increased by an additional 5 years and by an additional 3 years for OBC categories.

Marks and Subject requirements for various courses is as follows :

  1. B.A. (Hons) Arts: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  2. B.A. (Hons) Social Sciences: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. In the case of B.A. (Hons) Economics, the candidate should have Mathematics as a compulsory subject for 10+2.
  3. B.Com. (Hons)/ B.Com. (Hons) Financial Markets Management: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. 10+2 examination should be passed with commerce/ economics/ mathematics/ finance/financial markets management/computer science/vocational courses as one of the subjects.
  4. B.Sc. (Hons) Maths Group: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. The 10+2 examination should be passed with Physics & Mathematics and any one of the following: Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Geography.
  5. B.Sc. (Hons) Bio Group: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. 10+2 examination should be passed with physics, chemistry, and any one of the following subjects: biology, geology, and geography.
  6. LLB (Hons): candidate should have passed B.A./ B.Com./B.Sc./ Shastri examination with 10+2+3 pattern and minimum 50% aggregate marks. Also, the candidate must not be more than 30 years old as of 1st July 2022, and more than 35 years old in case of SC/ST categories as of 1st July 2022.

Other Important Details

  • The ‘minimum marks aggregate’ is not applicable in case of SC/ST categories, but passing the required examinations is compulsory to be eligible.
  • 5% relaxation for minimum marks aggregate is given to be PC and OBC categories.
  • Forms of ineligible candidates will be rejected. Forms will incomplete details will be rejected as well.
  • Other than meeting the eligibility criteria, admission will solely be given on merit basis as per the score of the candidate in BHU UET 2022.
