CSIR NET also known as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Undergraduate Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is a National-level exam and is popularly known as CSIR- UGC NET or simply CSIR NET. According to the revised pattern, the exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This exam is conducted to select candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointing candidates as a lecturer in universities/colleges.

The CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year, once in the month of June and secondly in the month of December. The application form for the CSIR NET exam will be filled in online mode and the exam for the same will also be held in online mode i.e. Computer-Based test. The CSIR NET exam is conducted only for the science side students. The name of subjects for which the CSIR conducts the NET exam is as follows in the table.

CSIR NET 2024 Application Form

The application form will be filled in online mode on the official website of NTA or CSIR i.e. csirnet.nta.nic.in. Interested candidates can fill the form by visiting the official website of NTA. Here we have given a step-by-step procedure to fill the application form.

How to fill CSIR NET 2024 Application Form?

Candidates are instructed to follow the following steps to avoid any kind of mistakes.

Step 1: CSIR NET 2024 Registration Process

First of all, go to the official website of NTA and click on the ‘Apply online’ link to fill the registration form.
Now candidates need to enter their Personal details, Email ID, Mobile number, etc as required.

Step 2: Filling CSIR NET 2024 Application Form

After the registration process, the system will generate a provisional application number and password that will be sent on your email Id and mobile number.
Now log in again, using the same credentials, and fill in all the required details such as personal details, academic details, communication details, category details, exam center, etc.

Step 3: Uploading Scanned Images

Now, after filling the application form, candidates have to upload the scanned images of documents in the specified format given below.

CSIR NET 2024 Eligibility

Before filling the application form, candidates are instructed to download the information brochure to get detailed information about all the eligibility criteria. Here we have given some basic eligibility criteria that the candidates must have to satisfy.

Nationality

The candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit

For Junior Research Fellowship:
- The maximum age limit of the candidates should be of 28 years as of January 1, 2024.
- 5 years of relaxation will be given for SC/ ST/ PWD and female candidates as of January 1, 2024.
- 3 years of relaxation will be given for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates as of January 1, 2024.
For Lectureship:
- There is no age limit required to apply for Lecturership.
- Candidates of any age can apply.

Subject-Wise Educational Qualification

Life Science	Pursued or pursuing an academic qualification in Life Science with 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
Earth Science	Pursued or pursuing in the last year of M.Sc./ BS-MS/ BS-4 Years/ B.Pharma or any equivalent degree in the field of Earth Science with at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
Chemical Science	Pursued or pursuing in the last year of M.Sc./ BS/ B.Tech or equivalent qualification in Chemistry with the required percentage mentioned above with at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
Mathematics	Pursued or pursuing in the last year of M.Sc./ BS-MS/ BS/ B.Tech or any equivalent degree in Mathematics with required percentage of at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
Physical Science	Pursued or pursuing in the last year of M.Sc. Physics or BS-MS in Physics or any equivalent degree with the required percentage of at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.

CSIR NET 2024 Answer Keys

The Answer key for Joint CSIR NET Exam will be released after one-two weeks of examination on the official website of CSIR i.e. csirnet.nta.nic.in.

Candidates who want to raise a representation against the answer key then they are welcomed but they have to follow the following rules.
- The representation/ representations must be sent through the email only as no other mode will be applicable.
- The raised representation must contain the documentary or textual supports only.
- The representation will be sent within a valid time period.

Candidates can check the official answer key, and after matching with the answer key, candidates may have an idea about their marks for the exam.

CSIR NET 2024 Syllabus

CSIR UGC NET syllabus consists of three parts namely Part A, Part B, and Part C described as follows.

Part A- This part covers the general aptitude syllabus. And syllabus of this part is the same for all the subjects.

CSIR NET 2024 Admit Card

The admit card will be released tentatively in the month of May 2024 for the upcoming June exam.

Candidates can download their admit cards by visiting the official website. Admit card is a necessary document and it should be carried out during the examination because without carrying the admit card, candidates will not be able to enter the examination hall.

First of all, go through the official website i.e. www.csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Now find and click on the link i.e. “Click Here for Admit Card”.
Now candidates have to log in with their “Application Number” & “Password”.
After entering the details, a new window will open where the admit card will be displayed.
Now, candidates can download the admit card and take a printout of it for further reference.

The candidates can download the result by visiting the official website. i.e. csirnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates have to log in with registration no. and date of birth. Here we have given a step-by-step procedure to download the result.

How to Download CSIR NET Result?

First of all, Go to the official website of CSIR NET.
Now, find and click on the Result on the menu bar.
Now to download the result, enter your roll number or date of birth, date of exam, and captcha code.
Finally, click on the ‘Submit’ button after clicking on the submit button your result will appear in the PDF format in the new window.
Next, download the ‘Result’ and take a printout of the result for future reference.

CSIR NET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines

Here are some instructions have been given that you need to follow, candidates have to follow these instructions as given below-

Documents to Carry at the Examination Center:

Print out the CSIR NET admit card.
One passport-size photograph exactly the same as when uploaded while filling the application form.
An original government photo ID card such as Passport/ Driving License/ PAN card/ Aadhaar card (with photograph)/ Aadhaar enrolment number/ Ration card/ Voter ID card, etc.
PwD certificate, for PwD candidates only.

Documents/things not to Carry:

Any printed or written textual things or any kind of study material, Pens, Slide rules, Log tables, Bags, etc are not permitted to let these things in, in the exam hall.
Any kind of electronic item is also not allowed such as a watch/ calculator/ mobile/ Bluetooth devices, etc.
For the normal candidates, Edible things are not allowed to carry while diabetic candidates are allowed to carry the edibles like fruit/ sugar tablets/ and transparent water bottles.
