Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Acting

Admission requirements for acting programmes are similar to those for various other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. To be considered for admission, students must meet the requirements.

For Undergraduate Acting Courses

  • Passing of a 10+2 exam from an Indian board with a relevant subject as a major.
  • Students interested in taking an acting course must have received a minimum of 45 percent on their 12th board test.

For Postgraduate Acting Courses

  • Finishing  of an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject from a recognised Indian institution.

Acting Entrance Exam

To seek a profession in acting, a student does not need to pass any specific admission exam. Some institutes and colleges, on the other hand, have their own entrance tests. The following are some of the most common acting admission exams: –

  1. National School of Drama: The institution provides a three-year PG Diploma in Dramatic Arts that includes many aspects of acting and theatre. A preliminary test plus a performance-based qualifying test make up the admission exam.
  2. Film and Television Institute of India: The institution provides postgraduate programmes and administers a Joint Entrance Test (JET) accompanied by an interview.   4. Whistling Woods International: The institution provides a 3-year undergraduate programme as well as a 2-year graduate programme in acting.
