How to Prepare for JIPMER
1. Proper Time Management:
You need to manage your properly so that you can give every subject and every topic the required time. Go through the exam pattern and syllabus mentioned above thoroughly and then prepare your study time table accordingly.
Divide your time equally between Physics, Chemistry and Biology and give some time to English every day. English is an important part of our daily life, so giving at least an hour a day to English subject is necessary.
Add breaks in between the time table. After the study of 2 or 3 hours, take a small 15 minutes break and go for stroll or do anything that makes you refresh, be it your favourite game or favourite hobby. This will help you keep yourself refreshed and you will not feel burdened.
2. Focus on your NCERT Syllabus
The first step is to focus on your NCERT books and syllabus. Do not try to proceed to another book if you are not well prepared with the NCERT syllabus.
NCERT books contain the basic syllabus to higher questions, so it will give you the required preparation for the strongest base. Cover all the questions from solved examples to textbook questions. Once you are thoroughly done with NCERT syllabus, you can consider other Higher level books to make your preparation strong.
Note – Do not rely only on NCERT books as the competition is very high in JIPMER exam and you need to score the highest of the marks to get selected. So backup your preparation with other higher level and reference books.

3. Formulas are the Key
Always remember that the most basic thing about your preparation is formulas. Make a separate notebook for writing formulas. Make them clear and on point and write them in your own language.
Revise these formulas before starting studying every day.
4. Online Preparation
After you’re done with NCERT book syllabus, download previous year question papers online and try solving them. This will give the idea of syllabus and types of questions that are generally asked in the examination. It will also help you to understand that how many NCERT questions will be there in the exam and how much will it allow helping you score well.
Take the mock test online and keep your record with you.
5. Keep Revising
No matter how much you study in a day, always keep it revised within the time span of 2 or 3 days. Doing so will help you remember the syllabus properly and you are always connected with what you studied.

6. Study with a Pattern
Always study with a fixed and regular pattern and don’t break it. It will help you maintain your pace properly.
Start with biology and chemistry. For a proper and well-mannered exam, try to solve them within 45 minutes. For this, you need to have a well-prepared strategy and pace. Study hard every day and take note of the time that you took while solving a question paper. Limit yourself and give the minimum time to yourself to solve a section of the exam.
After solving biology and chemistry, go for English and logical reasoning. These sections contain 10 questions each and will not require more than 20 minutes if you have had a well-prepared syllabus.
This will give you a proper time of 80 minutes to solve Physics section, which is the hardest. Physics questions require logic and this will consume your time. So pay maximum attention to physics while preparing.
7. Take Advantage of No Negative Marking
There is no negative marking in the examination to take maximum advantage of it. Try your luck and attempt the questions you don’t know. Do not leave a single question.
